Cidade revelada: repressão e resistência a ditadura militar em Cruz das Almas-Ba /1964 a 1974

Abstract

O golpe civil-militar de março de 1964 instaurou no Brasil o regime ditatorial, marcado pela repressão política e ausência de liberdade. Como em todo o país, Cruz das Almas também experimentou os efeitos deste golpe, com intensas ações repressivas e conseqüentemente articulados movimentos de resistência. Por abrigar uma instituição de ensino superior, na época Escola de Agronomia, Cruz das Almas permaneceu na mira dos militares durante todo o regime. Visando compreender tal contexto, o presente estudo objetivou conhecer a dinâmica constitutiva da ditadura militar na cidade de Cruz das Almas, a partir das marcas que se revelam nos testemunhos de seus habitantes, nas suas histórias de vida, memórias e narrativas, que compõe o imaginário individual e coletivo. Muitos moradores tiveram participação ativa, (contra ou a favor) no processo ditatorial em Cruz das Almas. Conforme esta perspectiva realizou-se pesquisa qualitativa, adotando a história oral como abordagem metodológica, associada à pesquisa documental. As entrevistas foram o instrumento utilizado para a coleta das narrativas, tanto dos sujeitos que deram sustentação ao regime militar no âmbito local, como daqueles que compuseram a conjuntura de resistência contestando as ações dos militares dentro da cidade. As narrativas das experiências vivenciadas, tanto possibilitaram caracterizar a representatividade de Cruz das Almas no Regime Ditatorial em âmbito regional, quanto para conhecer aspectos e acontecimentos deste período, invisíveis na historiografia centrada em documentos oficiais. As memórias dos sujeitos históricos referente à ditadura militar possibilitaram explorar uma parte da historia de Cruz das Almas ainda intocada. _________________________________________________________________________________________ The civil-military coup of March 1964, introduced in Brazil the dictatorship, marked by political repression and unfreedom. As in any country, Cruz das Almas also experienced the effects of this blow, with intense crackdown and therefore articulated resistance movements. As home to an institution of higher education, then the School of Agronomy, Cruz das Almas remained in sight of the military throughout the system. To understand this context, this study investigated the constitutive dynamics of the military dictatorship in the city of Cruz das Almas, based on the features that are revealed in the testimonies of its inhabitants in their life stories, memories and narratives that make up the imaginary individual and collective. Many residents took active participation (or against) in the dictatorial Cruz das Almas. According to this view was held qualitative research, adopting the oral history as a methodological approach, coupled with documentary research. The interviews were the instrument used to collect the stories of both individuals who have supported the military regime in place, such as those that formed the background of resistance by challenging the actions of the military within the city. The narratives of life experiences, both to characterize the representativeness of Cruz das Almas in the dictatorial regime at the regional level, and to know aspects and events of this period, invisible in the historiography focused on official documents. The memories of historical subjects relating to the military dictatorship allowed to explore a part of the history of Cruz das Almas untouched.
