Concordância entre as manifestações clínicas e o diagnóstico de alterações pulpares: conhecimento dos discentes de uma clínica escola no município de Cruz das Almas

Abstract

A Endodontia é a especialidade da odontologia que estuda a morfologia, biologia e a patologia da polpa dentária e dos tecidos periapicais. Em resposta a ação de um agente agressor, a polpa dentária pode apresentar reações inflamatórias, as quais dependem da intensidade e frequência do agente, que podem provocar alterações de caráter reversível ou irreversível à polpa. Tendo em vista as diferentes alterações, o estudo das manifestações clínicas é de extrema importância para alcançar um diagnóstico correto. Dessa forma, o objetivo geral deste estudo é avaliar o conhecimento dos discentes de uma Clínica Escola no município de Cruz das Almas no que diz respeito à concordância entre as manifestações clínicas e o diagnóstico de alterações pulpares, tendo como objetivos específicos: Descrever o perfil sociodemográfico dos discentes bem como verificar as limitações e facilidades dos discentes quanto à concordância das manifestações clínicas e alterações pulpares. Este estudo trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva com abordagem quantitativa que teve como participantes os discentes matriculados do 6º ao 10º semestre, no ano de 2020, de uma clínica escola do município de Cruz das Almas. Esta pesquisa teve como fonte de dados o questionário de múltipla escolha on-line. Foram adotados como critérios de inclusão: Discentes que aceitaram participar da pesquisa, preenchendo o TCLE; discentes matriculados nos semestres (6º ao 10º) que já tenham cursado a disciplina teórica de Endodontia e que já iniciaram o atendimento nas clínicas relacionadas à disciplina. Foram excluídos da pesquisa os discentes que estivam afastados da clínica por motivos de dispensa, licença maternidade ou atestado médico. Os dados foram tabulados em uma planilha do programa Microsoft Excel e pelo aplicativo de questionário online, realizando assim, análise estatística descritiva, no qual, os dados foram categorizados e analisados, apresentando os resultados que foram interpretados, em forma de gráficos. Com base nas respostas obtidas nesse estudo, pode-se perceber que o conhecimento dos discentes de uma clinica escola no município de cruz das Almas apresentam um nível elevado de conhecimento sobre as manifestações clinicas (sinais e sintomas) e o diagnóstico e alterações pulpares, no qual, favorece para um diagnostico correto e consequentemente um tratamento adequado, sendo eles, realizado pelos discentes da clinica escola e com o auxílio de toda equipe de tutores capacitados, para atuar juntamente com a equipe da clínica escola. ______________________________________________________________________________ Endodontics is a dentistry specialty that studies the morphology, biology and pathology of the dental pulp and periapical tissues. In response to the action of an aggressive agent, the dental pulp can present inflammatory reactions, which depend on the intensity and frequency of the agent, which can cause reversible or irreversible alterations to the pulp. In view of the different alterations, the study of clinical manifestations is of extreme importance to reach a correct diagnosis. Thus, the general objective of this study is to evaluate the knowledge of the students of a School Clinic in Cruz das Almas regarding the agreement between the clinical manifestations and the diagnosis of pulpal alterations, with the following specific objectives: To describe the sociodemographic profile of the students, as well as to verify the limitations and facilities of the students regarding the agreement between the clinical manifestations and pulpal alterations. This study is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach that had as participants the students enrolled from the 6th to the 10th semester, in the year 2020, from a school clinic in the city of Cruz das Almas. The data source for this research was the on-line multiple-choice questionnaire. Inclusion criteria were: students who agreed to participate in the study by filling out the informed consent form; students enrolled in semesters (6th to 10th) who had already studied the theoretical subject of Endodontics and who had already started their treatment in clinics related to the subject. Students who were away from the clinic due to dismissal, maternity leave or medical certificate were excluded from the study. The data were tabulated in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and by the online questionnaire application, thus performing a descriptive statistical analysis, in which the data were categorized and analyzed, presenting the results that were interpreted as graphs. Based on the responses obtained in this study, it can be seen that the knowledge of the students of a clinic school in the city of Cruz das Almas have a high level of knowledge about the clinical manifestations (signs and symptoms) and the diagnosis of pulpal alterations, which favors a correct diagnosis and consequently an appropriate treatment, which is performed by the students of the clinic school and with the help of the whole team of tutors trained to work together with the team of the clinic school.
