Radioterapia paliativa: intervenções e cuidados junto ao paciente sem possibilidade de cura

Abstract

Os cuidados paliativos são aqueles que dizem respeito ao trabalho ativo e integral com as pessoas que apresentam alguma doença grave, no caso do presente estudo, o câncer, que tem ameaçado continuamente a vida de muitos. A abordagem paliativa se amplia a medida em que a doença se agrava na intenção de cuidar dos aspectos psicológicos, sociais e espirituais. Para os pacientes em fase terminal, onde há pouco tempo de vida, o tratamento paliativo se torna uma prioridade na garantia da qualidade de vida, bem como do conforto do paciente. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, se contemplou o seguinte objetivo geral, conhecer as contribuições da radioterapia paliativa nas intervenções e cuidado junto ao paciente sem possibilidade de cura. Como objetivos específicos, interessou-se em avaliar sobre as contribuições do tratamento por meio da radioterapia paliativa em pacientes sem possibilidade de cura; compreender sobre o papel do tecnólogo em radiologia no tratamento de pessoas com câncer sem possibilidade de cura e, discutir sobre as principais formas de tratamento em radioterapia paliativa. A natureza desta pesquisa partiu de uma abordagem qualitativa, onde o procedimento usado foi a técnica de pesquisa bibliográfica. Ao todo atenderam os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, 38 artigos, que trataram sobre os cuidados paliativos, sobre cuidado e humanização na assistência, sobre o câncer e as formas de tratamentos em radioterapia. Como resultado, esse estudo compreendeu o quão importante são os cuidados paliativos, no intuito de melhorar a qualidade de vida do paciente, percebeu o papel do tecnólogo em radiologia e a necessidade deste técnico no trabalho em equipe, bem como a relevância da sua formação continuada. Conclui-se que o cuidado paliativo humanizado, é imprescindível para ganhar a confiança do paciente e minimizar o seu sofrimento nos últimos dias de vida. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT Palliative care refers to active and integral work with people who have a serious illness, in the case of this study, cancer, which has continuously threatened the lives of many. The palliative approach expands as the disease worsens with the intention of taking care of psychological, social and spiritual aspects. For terminally ill patients, where there is little time to live, palliative treatment becomes a priority in ensuring quality of life, as well as patient comfort. For the development of the research, the following general objective was considered, to know the contributions of palliative radiotherapy in interventions and care for the patient with no possibility of cure. As specific objectives, it was interested in evaluating the contributions of treatment through palliative radiotherapy in patients with no possibility of cure; understand the role of the technologist in radiology in the treatment of people with cancer with no possibility of cure and discuss the main forms of treatment in palliative radiotherapy. The nature of this research started from a qualitative approach, where the procedure used was the bibliographic research technique. In all, 38 articles met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, which dealt with palliative care, care and humanization in care, cancer and forms of radiotherapy treatments. As a result, this study understood how important palliative care is, in order to improve the patient's quality of life, realized the role of the technologist in radiology and the need for this technician in teamwork, as well as the relevance of their continuing education . It is concluded that humanized palliative care is essential to gain the patient's trust and minimize their suffering in the last days of life.
