Caracterização geral das publicações sobre implantes pterigoides em alternativa a maxilas atróficas

Abstract

A ausência sequer de apenas um dente, gera constrangimento e descontentamento social e pode-se dizer esse fenômeno está associado a problemas que ocasionam em dificuldades na mastigação e fonética. A perda de dentes ocasiona em uma reabsorção óssea progressiva e se encontra mais acentuada nas regiões posteriores do maxilar, denominando-se maxilas atróficas. A reabilitação da maxila atrófica é considerada um grande desafio para o cirurgião dentista, no entanto, foram desenvolvidas diferentes soluções e propostas no decorrer dos anos. Neste contexto, os implantes pterigoideos foram desenvolvidos, com a principal indicação de reabilitação do segmento posterior maxilar reabsorvido. Logo, o estudo trouxe como problema: Como a literatura aborda a utilização de implantes pterigoides como alternativa de reabilitação de maxilas atróficas? Sendo assim, o presente estudo teve como objetivo realizar uma análise, por meio de uma revisão de literatura, sobre a utilização de implantes pterigoides em alternativa de reabilitação de maxilas atróficas. Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura do tipo integrativa, com seleção dos de artigos indexados nas bases de dados cientificas do Portal regional da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde e Scielo, com recorte temporal de 2016 a abril de 2021. Como critérios de inclusão: texto nos idiomas português e em inglês, que estivessem disponíveis na íntegra na forma on-line. Como exclusão: os documentos repetidos e que encontravam-se com fuga de tema. Para analisar as informações selecionadas nos artigos buscou-se autores que auxiliaram para reforçar ou contrapor com os achados. Verificou-se após as buscas foram encontrados 14 artigos, em que os anos de 2018 e 2019 que mais tiveram publicações sobre a temática, sendo a região sudeste o local com 64,26% das publicações, ressaindo o estado de São Paulo com o maior número(9) de publicações. Quanto ao tipo de estudo foi verificado que a maioria foi representada por relatos de caso e revisão de literatura, sendo encontrado um numero expressivo também de literatura cinzenta(monografia, dissertação e tese). Fica evidente que há interesse pela temática, principalmente nos últimos anos quanto a reabilitação com o uso de implantes pterigoides para a maxila atrófica. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT The absence of even just one tooth generates embarrassment and social discontent and it can be said that this phenomenon is associated with problems that cause difficulties in chewing and phonetics. The loss of teeth causes a progressive bone resorption and is more accentuated in the posterior regions of the maxilla, called atrophic maxillae. The rehabilitation of the atrophic maxilla is considered a great challenge for the dental surgeon, however, different solutions and proposals have been developed over the years. In this context, pterygoid implants were developed, with the main indication for rehabilitation of the resorbed posterior maxillary segment. Therefore, the study brought up the problem: How does the literature address the use of pterygoid implants as an alternative for the rehabilitation of atrophic maxillae? Therefore, the present study aimed to carry out an analysis, through a literature review, on the use of pterygoid implants as an alternative for the rehabilitation of atrophic maxillae. An integrative literature review was carried out, with the selection of articles indexed in the scientific databases of the regional Portal of the Virtual Health Library and Scielo, with a time frame from 2016 to April 2021. Inclusion criteria: text in languages Portuguese and English, which were available in full online. As an exclusion: documents that were repeated and found to be subject to avoidance. To analyze the selected information in the articles, authors were sought who helped to reinforce or counteract the findings. After the searches, 14 articles were found, in which the years 2018 and 2019 had the most publications on the subject, with the Southeast region being the place with 64.26% of the publications, with the state of São Paulo with the highest number(9) of publications. As for the type of study, it was verified that the majority was represented by case reports and literature review, with a significant number also being found in gray literature (monograph, dissertation and thesis). It is evident that there is interest in the subject, especially in recent years regarding rehabilitation with the use of pterygoid implants for the atrophic maxilla.
