Métodos de identificação humana post-mortem no âmbito da odontologia legal: limitações e desafios

Abstract

A Odontologia legal assume um dever importante na identificação e individualização de um ser humano visto que, a cavidade oral possui estruturas ímpares capazes de ajudar na construção do perfil de um indivíduo. Uma série de técnicas podem ser abrangidas nesse processo e as mesmas podem ser feitas combinadas ou individualmente, o que irá determinar a escolha do método é a condição em que o corpo se encontra. A identificação humana é direito de toda pessoa antes mesmo de se determinar a causa da morte. Com isso, o objetivo geral do estudo foi investigar na literatura as limitações e desafios referente aos métodos de identificação humana post-mortem no contexto da Odontologia Legal. O tipo de estudo escolhido foi uma revisão de literatura integrativa, tendo como o local das buscas a Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde. Como descritor principal foi usado: odontologia legal onde foi feito um cruzamento com os seguintes descritores secundários: antropologia forense, palato, lábio, radiografia dentária. Tendo como recorte temporal o período de 2016 a outubro de 2021, para seleção dos documentos foram usados os seguintes critérios de inclusão: aqueles que abordaram a temática sendo eles artigos, textos em português na base de dados e como critérios de exclusão: documentos repetidos e fora do tema que foi proposto. Após a seleção dos títulos dos documentos uma leitura flutuante foi feita onde foi possível obter uma visão geral das informações, posteriormente um detalhamento de cada material foi analisado observando suas características especificas a fim de confirmar se os documentos se encaixam na temática. Com isso, foram realizados 05 cruzamentos levando a um total de 11.238 documentos, após aplicar os critérios de inclusão e exclusão previamente determinados e o recorte temporal selecionado, restaram apenas 37 documentos, destes 16 estavam repetidos finalizando com um total de 21 documentos. Em seguida foi realizada uma leitura analítica que identificando o conteúdo manifesto e latente, a fim de encontrar semelhanças, contradições e complementariedades. Observou-se então que existe uma crescente procura dos métodos odontológicos para identificação humana e isso é decorrente da sua validade judicial e seus aspectos favoráveis, em contrapartida existe a necessidade de mais estudos na área visto que alguns fatores limitantes prejudicam o uso dos métodos como por exemplo a falta de uma classificação e padronização no momento da execução da técnica, assim como, o mau armazenamento dos documentos dos pacientes. Portanto, conclui-se que a odontologia legal através de seus métodos contribui na identicação de corpos com auxílio de técnicas de baixo custo e com menos tempo. A necessidade atual é de mais pesquisas e estudos na área, destacando a importância da atuação do cirurgião-dentista no contexto pericial, contribuindo significativamente com a efetividade dos exames realizados, com a celeridade dos resultados. ____________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT: Forensic dentistry assumes an important duty in the identification and individualization of a human being, since the oral cavity has unique structures that can help in the construction of an individual's profile. A number of techniques can be covered in this process and they can be done in combination or individually, what will determine the choice of method is the condition in which the body is. Human identification is the right of every person even before the cause of death is determined. Thus, the general purpose of this study was to investigate the limitations and challenges of post-mortem human identification methods in the context of forensic dentistry in the literature. The type of study chosen was an integrative literature review, using the Virtual Health Library as the place to search. The main descriptor used was: forensic dentistry, which was crossed with the following secondary descriptors: forensic anthropology, palate, lip, dental radiography. Having as temporal cutout the period from 2016 to October 2021, for the selection of documents the following inclusion criteria were used: those that addressed the theme being articles, texts in Portuguese in the database and as exclusion criteria: repeated documents and outside the proposed theme. After selecting the titles of the documents, a floating reading was done, where it was possible to obtain an overview of the information. Later, a detailing of each material was analyzed, observing its specific characteristics in order to confirm that the documents fit the theme. After applying the previously determined inclusion and exclusion criteria and the selected time frame, only 37 documents remained, 16 of which were repeated, ending up with a total of 21 documents. Next, an analytical reading was carried out, identifying the manifest and latent content in order to find similarities, contradictions, and complementarities. It was observed that there is a growing demand for dental methods for human identification and this is due to its judicial validity and its favorable aspects. On the other hand, there is a need for further studies in the area, since some limiting factors hinder the use of the methods, such as the lack of classification and standardization at the time of the execution of the technique, as well as poor storage of patient documents. Therefore, it can be concluded that forensic dentistry, through its methods, contributes to the identification of bodies with the help of low-cost techniques and with less time. The current need is for more research and studies in the area, highlighting the importance of the dental surgeon's role in the forensic context, contributing significantly to the effectiveness of the examinations performed, with the speed of results.
