Uso do ácido hialurônico na prática odontológica: possibilidades e efeitos adversos

Abstract

Atualmente existe uma constante busca pela melhoria da estética na sociedade, não só a estética corporal como também a estética facial, entretanto, problemas funcionais da articulação temporomandibular e problemas periodontais influenciam na fonação, deglutição, mastigação e na harmonia facial do indivíduo. Nesta perspectiva o objetivo geral do estudo foi investigar, na literatura, as possibilidades do uso do ácido hialurônico na prática odontológica, bem como seus efeitos adversos. O estudo abordou uma revisão de literatura integrativa, realizado na base de dados eletrônica Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) como o descritor principal: Ácido Hialurônico e como descritores secundários: preenchedor dérmico, articulação temporomandibular, gengiva e rejuvenescimento. O recorte temporal é referente ao período de 2017 a 2022. Como critérios de inclusão: texto completo disponível na literatura nacional e internacional. O estudo contou com a análise de 23 artigos. Os resultados apontam que o ácido hialurônico é muito utilizado principalmente como rejuvenescedor dérmico, também vem sendo muito utilizado no tratamento da disfunção temporomandibular e como preenchedor de papila interdentária, o hematoma é o efeito adverso mais comum, mas vale ressaltar que seus efeitos adversos são raros e infrequentes, dessa forma, conclui-se que por ser uma substância segura, pouco invasiva e reabsorvível o ácido hialurônico é o material de primeira escolha quando se trata de preenchimento estético e rejuvenescimento. ______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT Currently there is a constant search for the improvement of aesthetics in society, not only body aesthetics but also facial aesthetics, however, functional problems of the temporomandibular joint and periodontal problems influence phonation, swallowing, chewing and facial harmony of the individual. In this perspective, the general objective of the study was to investigate, in the literature, the possibilities of using hyaluronic acid in dental practice, as well as its adverse effects. The study addressed an integrative literature review, carried out in the Virtual Health Library (BVS) electronic database as the main descriptor: Hyaluronic Acid and as secondary descriptors: dermal filler, temporomandibular joint, gingiva and rejuvenation. The time frame refers to the period from 2017 to 2022. As inclusion criteria: full text available in national and international literature. The study included the analysis of 23 articles. The results indicate that hyaluronic acid is widely used mainly as a dermal rejuvenator, it has also been widely used in the treatment of temporomandibular disorders and as a filler of interdental papilla, hematoma is the most common adverse effect, but it is worth mentioning that its adverse effects are rare. and infrequent, thus, it is concluded that, as it is a safe, minimally invasive and resorbable substance, hyaluronic acid is the material of first choice when it comes to aesthetic filling and rejuvenation.
