Interesse dos estudantes de farmácia de uma universidade do interior da bahia acerca da área forense

Abstract

As ciências forenses, também chamada de criminalística, englobam um vasto conjunto de conhecimentos científicos e técnicas complexas, com o propósito de investigar crimes e questões jurídicas diversas. Este estudo teve como objetivo geral investigar o interesse de universitários do curso Bacharelado em Farmácia de uma universidade do interior da Bahia acerca da atuação do profissional farmacêutico na área forense. Para tanto, conduziu-se a pesquisa de forma transversal e descritiva, com uma abordagem quantitativa, em um Centro Universitário situado no interior da Bahia, especificamente na Região do Recôncavo da Bahia. O estudo envolveu os alunos matriculados no Curso de Bacharelado em Farmácia, que totalizam 78 estudantes distribuídos em 10 turmas. A pesquisa entrevistou estudantes desde o primeiro até o décimo período do curso, regularmente matriculados, que tinham mais de 18 anos e estavam dispostos a colaborar com a pesquisa, concordando com o Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido exigido para maiores de 18 anos. Estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa (74586623.2.0000.5025). Após coletados, os dados foram analisados utilizando-se estatística descritiva. O estudo analisou o perfil de conhecimento e as perspectivas dos estudantes de farmácia em relação à área forense, através de um questionário respondido por 78 participantes, predominantemente do gênero feminino (75,6%) e com idade até 25 anos (69%). Embora 56,4% afirmassem ter conhecimento sobre a área forense, apenas 37% conseguiram definir a área de maneira. O interesse na área forense foi expressivo, com 47% dos estudantes manifestando interesse, principalmente nos três primeiros períodos do curso. A autoavaliação do conhecimento revelou que 37,2% dos estudantes não possuem nenhum conhecimento sobre a área forense, enquanto 59% consideram ter conhecimento básico. O uso predominante de internet e séries de TV como fontes de informação sugere a possibilidade de incluir disciplinas específicas na grade curricular, proporcionando uma formação mais abrangente e alinhada às expectativas dos estudantes. Quanto à percepção da demanda de mercado, 70% acreditam em demanda para farmacêuticos na área forense. No entanto, a maioria (64,1%) não soube responder como um farmacêutico pode atuar nesse campo, indicando uma possível desconexão entre a percepção de demanda e o entendimento prático. Barreiras na formação foram identificadas por 31% dos estudantes, destacando a necessidade de adaptação na grade curricular (70,5%) e oferta de estágios na área forense (74,3%) como sugestões para melhoria. Em suma, ficou clara a necessidade de esclarecimento e formação específica na área forense para estudantes de farmácia, indicando a importância de ajustes na grade curricular e oferta de estágios para melhor preparar os futuros profissionais diante das oportunidades e desafios nesse campo. _______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT Forensic sciences, also known as criminalistics, encompass a broad set of scientific knowledge and complex techniques aimed at investigating crimes and various legal issues. The general objective of this study was to investigate the interest of pharmacy students at a university in the interior of Bahia regarding the role of pharmacists in the forensic field. To achieve this, a cross-sectional and descriptive research with a quantitative approach was conducted at a University Center located in the interior of Bahia, specifically in the Recôncavo da Bahia Region. The study involved students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy program, totaling 78 students distributed across 10 classes. The research interviewed students from the first to the tenth semester of the program, regularly enrolled, aged over 18, and willing to collaborate with the research, agreeing to the Free and Informed Consent Form required for individuals over 18 years old. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (74586623.2.0000.5025). After data collection, the information was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study examined the knowledge profile and perspectives of pharmacy students regarding the forensic field through a questionnaire answered by 78 participants, predominantly female (75.6%), and aged up to 25 years (69%). Although 56.4% claimed to have knowledge about the forensic field, only 37% were able to define the area accurately. Interest in the forensic field was significant, with 47% of students expressing interest, especially in the first three semesters of the program. Self-assessment of knowledge revealed that 37.2% of students had no knowledge of the forensic field, while 59% considered themselves to have basic knowledge. The predominant use of the internet and TV series as sources of information suggests the possibility of including specific disciplines in the curriculum, providing a more comprehensive education aligned with students' expectations. Regarding the perception of market demand, 70% believed in demand for pharmacists in the forensic field. However, the majority (64.1%) could not answer how a pharmacist could work in this field, indicating a possible disconnect between the perception of demand and practical understanding. Barriers in education were identified by 31% of students, highlighting the need for adaptation in the curriculum (70.5%) and the provision of internships in the forensic field (74.3%) as suggestions for improvement. In summary, the study emphasized the need for clarification and specific training in the forensic field for pharmacy students, indicating the importance of adjustments in the curriculum and the provision of internships to better prepare future professionals for the opportunities and challenges in this field.
